Before the official parade nights in February 2027, you can watch the warm-up of the samba schools for free at the technical rehearsals. The Sambadrome comes alive with extraordinary samba music, vibrant energy and world-class performances.

Technical rehearsals give samba schools the opportunity to fine-tune their performances, identify areas for improvement, and coordinate the work of their different departments on costumes, floats and choreography.

Technical rehearsals take place without full costumes, floats or props — but you still have the wonderful chance to witness some of the finest samba dancers in the world as they perfect their routines.
Final Day of the Technical Rehearsals
The final day of the technical rehearsals is always one of the most anticipated events of the pre-Carnival season, drawing large and enthusiastic crowds.
On the largest parade stage on earth, the reigning 2026 champions test their lighting and sound setups in preparation for the big nights ahead. At the end of the session, you will have the exciting opportunity to relax and dance alongside the performers.

Special Group Technical Rehearsals 2027
The Special Group samba schools will warm up at the Sambadrome (Sapucaí) over two consecutive weekends in January 2027, ahead of the official parade nights on 7, 8 and 9 February 2027. Entrance is free.
